We buy our flowers through the Dutch auction in Holland, the largest flower market in the world, which means a great deal is available to us every single day of the year. Roses, lilies, gerberas, chrysanthemums, carnations, alstroemeria and most of our foliage are grown under glass or flown in weekly, so they are never really “out of season”.
Others genuinely are. Peonies, tulips, ranunculus, anemones, sweet peas, lilac and daffodils only appear for a limited window each year, and no amount of buying power changes that. When they’re gone, they’re gone until next season.
Two things worth knowing: prices on seasonal flowers rise sharply at the very start and end of their window, and our Costa del Sol summers shorten vase life, so do ask us what’s looking best this week.
